At least two Alberta cabinet ministers are expected to tour Olds next year, possibly as early as January. They are Infrastructure Minister Sandra Jansen and Municipal Affairs Minister Shaye Anderson.
Mayor Mike Muzychka says Jansen’s visit may be in connection with an application by the town for funding to help cover costs for development of O-NET, the town-owned Internet and phone service.
At press time, it was unclear why Anderson may be visiting the community. Muzychka noted town officials met with him during the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association meeting Nov. 22-24 in Calgary.
At that time, Anderson congratulated the town on receiving honourable mention for its This Affects You public engagement program.
The town received notice of that award earlier in the fall.
