Sentenced for stealing Christmas toys

A woman has been sentenced for stealing $150 worth of toys from a local church.

Crystal Marie Pobihushchyj, also known as Crystal Marie Gillespie, received a 90-day conditional sentence order after pleading guilty to one count of theft under $5,000 on Feb. 28.

The toys, which had been collected for those in need during the holiday season, were stolen on Dec. 16, 2016. Pobihushchyj was arrested in connection with the matter in April 2017.

Pobihushchyj’s conditional sentence order includes remaining in her home for the duration of the order and making a $150 charitable donation to the church.
