TEMPLE
Rachel Rosetta Temple was born December 30, 1920 to Fred and Emma Maetche. She was the third eldest of ten children and attended Poplar Creek School. Rachel married Henry Temple on December 17, 1939 and they resided on the family farm southwest of Torrington. In 1941, their son Dennis was born and in 1948 they were blessed with a daughter Yvonne. A short time later, they moved to Torrington where they owned and operated a farm machinery dealership. They built a new home on a quarter of land adjacent to Torrington living there until they retired to Olds in 1992. In 2002, after Henry was hospitalized, Rachel moved to a condo in Whitewater Way where she resided for 2 years until moving to Sunrise Village. Here she thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship of all the residents especially the coffee parties and entertainment that brought special delight to her. Rachel loved to garden and grow beautiful flowers. She was a faithful longtime member of the Evangelical Church in Torrington and later the East Olds Baptist Church. Rachel enjoyed fishing trips with her husband Henry, the highlight of which was a trip to the east coast of Canada. They enjoyed trips to Mexico, Hawaii, Europe and Alaska. Rachel was a devout Christian, a faithful prayer warrior and a tremendous example for her family. She will be lovingly remembered by all her family and friends. We miss you Mom, but we celebrate your promotion to heaven. Rachel leaves to mourn her son Dennis (Carolyn) of Torrington; daughter Yvonne (Ben) Newton of Olds; four grandchildren Debbie (Brian) Winter, Angela (Lauren) Spreeman, Greg (Colleen) Newton, Brad (Pam) Newton; ten great-grandchildren Adam, Aaron and Alyssa Winter, Cassy, Brody and Dane Spreeman, Taylor, Roarke and Tatum Newton, Abby Newton; one brother Fred (Joyce) Maetche and two sisters Ruth (Albin) James and Vera (Emil) Hartung; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
