Augustana is a liberal arts and sciences faculty of the University of Alberta, one of Canada’s Top five universities. Every program we offer includes a range of subjects that teach students how to think critically, research effectively, and communicate with ease. Graduates will earn a flexible degree that can be used in many different ways – perfect for an ever-changing job market.
At Augustana, it's easy to get to know your professors, especially with one for every 16 students. Our small campus size also allows for undergraduate research, volunteer work, and travel abroad opportunities to places like Cuba, India, and Germany for course credit. Emily Grose, a Biology student, took a field studies trip to Costa Rica in her second year. “It was amazing being able to learn in such a close-knit environment with other peers and professors. I was able to expand my research knowledge while being able to explore another country. The best of both worlds!”
Jamie Grunwald, a second year student, loves that Augustana guarantees a spot in residence for all first-year students. It allowed her to meet people from all over the world who are studying different majors or who are interested in different career paths. “Being around other students who were passionate and excited about life and university was something that I looked forward to upon going to Augustana, and it is truly the people at the school that make it the incredible place it is.”
Augustana also helps students fund their education. About one-third of our students receive scholarships each year, and Augustana gives out more than $425,000 annually, which is not even counting the U of A Student Awards program!
So what have you got to lose? Check out Augustana’s beautiful campus. Be part of one of the best universities in Canada, with state-of-the-art facilities, friendly people, and amazing experiences in a place that can help you jumpstart an incredible future.
One morning, in the very early hours, Gina Christakos awoke to the sound of a pop.
